So it’s one of those days where I just woke up feeling awful- all crampy and sore and don’t talk to me for 5-7 days or I might bite your head off- you know, Aunt Flow!? Yeah, kay, just in case you weren’t following. So much for cleaning the house. Cleaning is so overrated. I’ve gone long enough without cleaning and I don’t have the “I’m working on the Preparedness Fair” excuse this weekend, bummer! I’m taking it easy, would love to sleep, but the kiddos won’t allow for that. So hey, I’ll just leave snacks in easy to reach places. Cartoons are on non stop, and I hate admit it, but my kiddo is still in pjs! That has only happened like, well, uh, I don’t know if that’s ever happened before in this house! Remember, OCD me- we have unwritten rules like no breakfast or going downstairs until we’re dressed for the day. Hey, today pjs are clothes and we’re dressed!
So I’m catching up on some of the blog posts I’ve only been thinking about, but that never quite make it to the press. Enjoy all the pics. I guess my kids do look alike now that I’ve been digging in Mikey picture archives and comparing to Joshy’s current pics. Yeah, cleaning can wait. I love that I can do something productive from a couch. This is great!
So we’re back to being sick again! I can’t believe it! We were down and out for seriously all of December, had 2 great weeks in January of church and nursery and BAM! Here we go again with the runny noses, watery eyes, achey bodies, cranky kids (and wife) and no rest for any of us.
I did however get some awesome sleep last night! Hallelujah. I was seriously running on oh, maybe 6 hours of sleep in 3 days and it was kind of making me all loopy and really hyperactive. But there was relief last night. I woke up after 3 hours and felt like I had slept for closer to 30 hours! Don’t you love those deep sleeps?
And I am happy to say that I was up and out of bed by 8:30 this morning ready to tackle the laundry, bathrooms, kitchen floor, dishes…. Amazing what a good night’s sleep can do for a person. Whew that was great!
Lots of pictures taken, but the poor little guy has maybe 3 pictures actually hanging up in the house. Oh the sad sad life of the 2nd child! So we had our first experience with really sick kids. Josh gave it to Mikey and between the 2 kiddos I think we’ve been experiencing sleepless nights (more than normal) for 3 weeks. We are getting better. Little Josh’s milestones:
-weighs 17 pounds and a few ounces (they don’t check the other stuff during a sick visit to the doc
– loves to jump when you hold him up on his feet
– still not pushing up, crawling, or sitting up without support (doc says he might be one of those who just goes straight to walking)
– wears size 3 or 4 (depending on brand) diapers
– says mama and yeah yeah
-started breathing treatments while sick
– has become attached to holding and biting real cell phones (let the fun begin)
– had 2 little bottom teeth pop through finally
-likes to eat and then have his diaper changed
-rolls all over the carpet and he’s pretty fast
-kicks the walls non stop
-slaps the kitchen floor with both hands while on his stomach
-love to put his hands all over Mikey and whatever Mikey is doing
You ever wish you could be somewhere, anywhere, but where you are? It’s not that I’m unhappy here, I’m just pregnant- And I have a cold!! Woke up Sunday barely before 9am church with a yucky tasting mouth and a bit of a sore throat. I made it through the day though, meetings and all. And my hubby made all 3 meals yesterday- I still am questioning whether I was dreaming or if he really spent more time in the kitchen than in front of his computer =o)
I keep reading about a saline solution for kids that I guess you squeeze up their noses and it helps to clear out all the junky nose boogies and help them feel better, but I’ve never tried it, nor has my kiddo. So I wonder if you’re close to a beach and are breathing in the salt water smell if it would have the same effect?!? So today I wish I was near a beach.Â
How crazy that I would rather be at the beach rather than in my warm cozy bed. I really think I’m sick now! I do give credit to my prenatal vitamins that I really think are helping my immune system from letting this cold get me too warn out and sicker than I already feel. I am running around today in super slow motion. My family was up and had eaten before I was out of bed. I go downstairs to join them and they head upstairs to get dressed and ready. I told them I’d be up in a sec. and by the time I was climbing stair #2 they were dressed and heading back downstairs! I did get my hubby’s lunch made though, unfortunately he had already left for work!! So at least I have a headstart for tomorrow’s lunch =o) I’m just taking things as the come and realizing that I am only as fast and productive as my body will allow me. It’s not too bad, and I am really not feeling that bad. I’m just taking it easy and doing what I can!! Oh man, the phone just rang and I missed it, because I’m too slow. 2 days ago I could’ve made it. Well maybe naptime will come early today and I can get one step closer to my beach =o)
