Talk about growing like a weed! We went to the doc for a 2 month appt and here’s her stats:
height: 22.5″ (50th percentile)
weight: 12.4 lbs (75th percentile)
head circumference: 37 cm (10th percentile)
she’s starting to smile and goo and girgle. She’s started spitting up a bunch too which is wierd. She’s a really good sleeper at night- goes down about 10 and gets up at 5:30am to poop and eat and goes back to bed until 9am! We’re slowly getting on a little schedule as far as naps. She likes car rides, sleeps the whole time in her carrier while we go swimming each week, and has been to the mall already in the stroller! She’s so much fun!
We went in at 10am and everything went bam bam bam super quick! We were actually allowed to go back early for surgery which really sped things up. She was born Monday, June 7th at 11:30 something. I didn’t even know they had taken her out, because she didn’t cry at all! When I did finally hear her, she sounded like a cat! Mikey sounded similar too when he came out! She had to go to the NICU for a few hours the first day to help regulate her breathing. At first she wasn’t breathing very deep and later she was breathing too fast. She’s doing well now. She was really calm yesterday and hardly fussed, but today she’s been poked in the heal, given the hearing test, been asleep but had to burp, and just not very happy. She’s also gotten more hungry today!
We’re so excited for little Hannah, all her hair, and for Grandma taking the boys for a whole week up in St. George so we can get a grip on the new parenthood stuff. Even though she’s #3 I feel like I’m starting all over from scratch when it comes to all this newborn stuff. I could really use a nap and it’s only day 1!

And lately these pregnancy dreams have been quite disturbing!
2 nights ago I had a dream that the docs went in to get the baby (c-section) and couldn’t find her! They were seriously baffled and then came to the conclusion that I passed her a few months ago through my urine. So then I had to send a txt msg to everyone including the hopeful grandmas that there was no cute baby girl and that she was dead. I then had to deal with a recovery with no kid to show for it! I was baffled!
It wouldn’t have been so bad except that we were babysitting a friend’s daughter overnight while they went in the have their baby #3. Needlesss to say that Tuesday I was way uneasy and extremely anxious to hear the news if their baby came safe. I also was more aware of little movements in my stomach just to make sure she was for sure still in there. This pregnancy has been a piece of cake (well, except for the swollen feet that have come on this week) and she really doesn’t kick or nudge very hard to make things uncomfortable!
Last night I had a dream that she kicked me so hard that her foot protruded out so far that it looked like a baseball bat was coming out from the side of my stomach! Quite a difference from the previous night, but still weird.
Not sure what they mean, but it’s an interesting change from the usual pregnancy dreams that leave you thinking. Some of my dreams seriously took me back to high school with the same friends and all the teenage drama and teachers and homework… they were so real and vivid that I’d wake up and be a bit surprised to find myself 10 years later in a completely different setting. Kind of funny though.
So here’s to 2 1/2 more months of dreams and swollen feet and hopefully a really big baby to show for it. I’m surprisingly getting really excited. I haven’t bought hardly anything and probably won’t go shopping until the week before, but hey, it’s kid 3- she has a carseat, a place to sleep, grandma has made her some blankets, and I’ve been stocking up on diapers for a while! I think we’re good to go!
Lately Joshy has been sleeping in until about 9am every morning. Mike brings him to me at 6:30am and then he snuggles next to me on my arm and falls asleep. I just look at this little guy and all his cute little features and I am amazed! I can’t complain for being able to sleep in more than normal and have a great reason for not getting things done like laundry and dishes and bathrooms, right?
