I’m So Excited!

Guess who slept through the night last night???  Mommy AND baby!!

So we finally got home and to bed about 9:30ish last night and when I was awakened by dear little baby there was light in the room.  I looked over at the alarm clock and it was 6am.  I had to think for a while, but when I came to my senses I realized that I was not up feeding baby at 1:30am like normal.  Can I just tell you how excited I was??  So now the tricky part is to figure out if this is a fluke or a result of my “milk free” diet my friend Patty told me to try for a week.  Hey, if giving up milk for a full night’s sleep is the trade then I think I can handle the deal.  Josh is already less gassy, hardly congested, sleeping longer at naps, and seems happier.  It’s only been 2 days though!  I really hope it’s the no milk thing, because if I’m giving up my block cheese and milk on my many bowls of cereal for nothing than I am really bummed!  Who votes that it’s the lack of milk that’s making my baby wonderful??

  1. yes! I vote Milk! I gave up dairy products with Kate and it changed my life!! (I am not kidding) Now that she weaned herself we are having a bit of a challenge with formula because soy & lactose free just don’t do the job as great as my no dairy diet! (it is a big sacrifice, so if that is it hang in there!)

  2. I totally vote milk! that was when Landon finally got less colicy and learned to sleep through the night! Its amazing what a different mommy diet can do for baby! I was worried that Landon would be allergic to milk, but so far he is just fine with it! I think for some little guys its just a matter of how its proccessed through the mommies body before it goes through to them. Thats what Landons pediatrician said anyway. I am excited for you, good luck!

  3. Congratulations. I may need to try this milk diet, although I do love my dairy. I hope this sleeping trend continues for you. Let me know how it goes.

  4. Yea that is so wonderful he finally slept through the night!!!!! I have heard of the no milk thing before, I limit my dairy as much as possible, Because Spencer and I are both Lactose intolerant just a little bit of cheese is usually all We eat. we actually don’t drink milk….We drink rice milk it’s actually pretty good, especially with cereal!!! Good luck getting him sleeping through the night all the time 🙂

  5. It could be the anti-milk thing, but I think that would only make sense if he has an allergy to it. Does he? Because I LOVE me some milk and its products, and my little nut was (and is) a great sleeper.

  6. Yeah, I think it was a fluke!! We were back to 1:30am feedings the very next night!! Bummer! I did try going without milk or chocolate or cheese and I am thinking Joshy has not an allergy, but maybe an intolerance to them all. I love my milk though. So I am just limiting my intake and being careful with what I eat and holding out until our next peds visit.
