I attended a free class tonight all about canning jams, veggies, and meats! My next home production project will be canning chicken! It looks awful, but will be nice to just go to the pantry and pull out some chicken! I’ll borrow a pressure cooker to do my meats since you can’t use a regular canner. Anyone already tried canning meat and have any tips?
I didn’t have braces as a kid, but I really want them as an adult! Anyone else out there have weird desires like mine? There’s got to be others out there who want braces as an adult! Or purhaps your desires of straighter teeth are for your teen or pre teenager! Maybe my oh so obvious crooked tooth is only apparent to me, but I know braces would help fix my slightly turned teeth. So, that’s my “fix-up me” project to start this year!
I attended a very laid back, 80′s themed, informational meeting to learn all about Invisaline and how they compare to regular metal traditional braces! Have you heard of Invisaline? Invisible and removable versus traditional and metal! It was a very helpful and casual meeting which allowed me to ask questions, get honest answers from a Las Vegas orthodontist who is well trained with traditional braces and also the newer Invisaline straightening trays. Invisalign Teen clear aligners straighten teeth without traditional wires and brackets giving teens (and adults) the confidence to live life to the fullest while improving their smile. I was surprised at how convenient wearing Invisaline could be. Did you know:
• Invisalign Teen clear aligners are removable and can straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal and all the disruption and sacrifice that comes with it.
• With Invisalign, Teens can play sports without fear of injury and continue cheerleading, musical instruments, acting and singing without interference. I play the flute and have wondered how braces may affect my ability to play.
I have heard of Invisaline and will admit I was misinformed about the way they are used. I knew Invisaline was a set of removable trays which in my mind conjures up images of kids, teens, and adults spending more time without their straightening trays in their mouth than actually wearing the straightening trays. It seems like an easy argument that traditional braces would straighten teeth faster than using removable Invisaline trays! MYTH BUSTED:The length of Invisalign treatment is comparable to braces. The average Invisalign journey averages about 12 months for adults. The length of treatment time for teens may vary depending on the severity of the case and can only be determined by a doctor. Also, Invisalign Teen aligners are made with small blue dots, officially called compliance indicators, that gradually fade as aligners are worn. It’s a quick visual check for parents and teens to confirm they wearing aligners long enough to get results. In fact, clinical data from orthodontists confirms that teens wear their aligners an average of 21 hours per day, just as recommended.
I’m setting up a consultation to see if I’m a good candidate for Invisaline and look forward to my practically invisible journey to straighter teeth!

I just found a new site in Vegas that has lots of activities and events listed to do in and around Vegas! What I’m really excited about is their 12 Days of Christmas give aways they have going on right now! They aren’t just giving away 1 thing each day, they are giving away many things! Go check it out to see what’s the current giveaway!
We’re visiting St. George this weekend and always love attending a different ward. Even after a terrible night of kids waking, hubby with allergies, hardly able to get some real sleep we somehow managed to crawl out of the house and get to church! I really honestly still wonder how or why that happened. I’m notorious for ditching church any Sunday we aren’t attending our home ward!
The boys wore their matching purple ties and were completely surprised to see that Grandpa Cox also had a purple tie! They got quite a few compliments!
Mikey insisted we go back to the primary room after church so he could pick up his shield!
Well, apparently the presidency made enough shields for each primary kid so here’s Mikey sporting his new favorite dress up attire! Don’t you love when people go above and beyond the call of duty to serve? I guess I needed a little lesson to make sure I’m always putting in 100% and doing all I can!
Mine was nice, relaxing, carefree, and with family. Does it get any better? And my kids pretty much did what they wanted without any reservation! Whatever makes us happy, right? Here’s Josh’s choice of after church attire:
I love the one sock on and one sock off!
The boys made me homemade Mother’s Day cards and Josh was so excited to tell me about his. “It says I Love Daddy!” he proudly proclaimed! We couldn’t help but to laugh. Mikey drew me a nice big rainbow using ROYGBV (he recently learned that to help him remember the rainbow color order) and he gave me a learn and grow kid kit from Lowe’s that’s a flower container. The boys and daddy used their new real tools in small kid sizes to hammer in the nails and assemble the really cute flower container. Then they painted it every shade on top of the previous so it slightly resembles grey and black, but it’s cute and made with love!
As They Grow Kid’s Consignment Event is going on this weekend! Huge Kid’s Sale today, Saturday, and Sunday. Mention “Creations by Emily” (my mom’s craft booth) and get in FREE! 2251 N. Rainbow (Close to Best of the West) next to Office Max. We got boy dress up clothes, Melissa and Doug toys, board books, baby food maker, and tons of clothes! You’ll love it! I might go back for the huge tote of Geo Trax if it’s still there!
You can pay with credit cards or cash. It’s very organized just like a department store (sections for: boys, girls, toys, furniture, books, movies, shoes, etc). It is kid and stroller friendly and they even set up a mother’s lounge! LOVE THIS EVENT!

I do not have a smart phone nor do I want one! That’s fine for a few more months I think. I take a pic with my cell phone, send a pic msg to my hubby who, then with the click of a button, can email me the pic. For some reason the cord to connect my phone to the computer connects, but doesn’t pull anything off my cell phone.
I personally like my method of retrieving cell phone pics, but I think he’s getting a bit tired of it. It would be nice to blog from to my phone, but I’m not ready to read emails, read blogs and facebook updates and surf the net any time I want. I just don’t want to be that connected to my phone. I might as well have it attached at the hip as another limb or something.
Well, here’s a bunch of pics that were taken with my camera over the longest time that are finally making it to the blog. Oh, I can’t take pics with my phone anymore, because the memory is all used up and I need to delete pictures. Nothing like motivation to get me into action!
